Get Protected: Summer is Just Around the Corner. Is Your Skin Ready?

ImageThe intense rays of Miami can not only make you overheat, but they can damage your precious skin. With summer right around the corner, be aware of the damaging rays that your skin is exposed to by outdoor activities. For example, tanning for more than one hour or doing cardio for more than one hour outside can both risk your life and raise your chances of skin cancer. Be cautious when you decide to go tanning because the most common form of cancer is skin cancer, and it is very easy to get it. According to Skin Cancer Foundation,   two million people are diagnosed with skin cancer annually.

Some tips from preventing yourself from receiving to much sun by:

  1. Avoid the strongest rays in Miami usually between the hours of 12:00-4:00 PM.

  3. Some stores such as Uniqlo offer a variety of clothing with UV protective materials.
  4. According to CNN, avoid using sunscreen with the harmful, toxic ingredient known as oxybenzone. Try looking in the baby section at the aisle due to the fact that the baby sunscreen usually does not contain oxybenzone. Oxybenzone is supposed to absorb ultraviolet light, but some researchers believe that oxybenzone can be absorbed through the skin which
